A Birding Adventure in Catalina State Park

Today was our 5th birding adventure with a very knowledgeable group and ranger guide at Catalina State Park.

The trees and flowers were coming into bloom. We watched nesting cooper Hawks build their nest and a mother great horned owl sitting on her nest, her head just peaking over the top. In the video, Robbie is talking about observing quail, one of his favorite birds. We saw house finches, lesser gold finches, Rufus wing sparrows, long billed hummingbirds, cardinals, roadrunners, hila woodpeckers, Lucy’s warblers, vermillion flycatchers, white crowned sparrow, and verdin.
